The short answer

Skan lets you scan and see a first score, then locks the plan. Beeuty is the whole-face picture from one selfie: score, zones, routine, history. Both are AI skin apps on the US store. The useful difference is what you get before you pay, and what the public listing actually promises.

Facts below are from the US App Store as of October 2026 and a ScreensDesign onboarding review. We do not use third-party revenue estimates — public sources for Skan disagree with each other by a wide margin. We also do not fill in platforms, languages or a photo-retention period for Skan, because those were not in the sources we used.

What each app actually is

Skan is published by Skan Beauty Inc. On the US App Store as of October 2026 it shows a 4.79 rating from 9,831 ratings, version 1.6.19 dated 8 October 2026, and in-app purchases of weekly $1.99–5.99, monthly $9.99 and yearly $19.99–39.99. A third-party onboarding review describes 44 steps: the scan and first score are free, the plan is locked behind a soft paywall. Closing that paywall can show a one-time discount; the score is revealed in stages rather than all at once. Store screenshots, summarised at concept level, lead with best product, best price and alternatives, a face analysis, a “don’t spend money on a bad product” line, a routine, K-beauty discovery, and badges for 600k users and 7k five-star ratings. Newest US reviews often mention a thorough face analysis and that the app is fun; they also mention that almost everything is paid, unexpected charges, and scans that do not load. We found no company-reported revenue we could cite.

Beeuty (“AI Skin & Face Scanner: beeuty”) is an iPhone and iPad app (iOS 16.4 or later). One selfie produces a 0–100 skin score, an estimated skin age (Glow Age), skin type and phototype, and a face map of blemishes, pores and texture, fine lines, sun damage, hydration and redness. It builds an ingredient-led routine, offers an ingredient guide and a label-reading Ingredient Check, and keeps history with the score trend. Free to download with optional PRO; analysis photos deleted after 30 days; results stated to be cosmetic estimates, not diagnoses.

Where Skan is the better choice

  • A large US rating base. Nearly 10,000 ratings at 4.79 is a much longer public record than Beeuty has.
  • A first score before the plan. The onboarding review describes the scan and first score as free. That is a lower first hurdle than a fully locked result.
  • Product, price and alternative matching is what the store screens lead with, including a K-beauty discovery angle. Beeuty does not run a shop.
  • Fun to use is one of the two themes current US reviews still praise.

Where Beeuty is the better choice

  • Shorter path to the map. One guided selfie, not a 44-step funnel.
  • A stated photo policy. Deleted after 30 days. We could not find Skan’s period.
  • Zone detail. A face map of six visible concerns, not only a first score. See the blemish map and pore and texture reads.
  • Brand-neutral ingredients. The routine and the Ingredient Check are not tied to a catalogue.
  • Clear cosmetic framing. Beeuty says it does not diagnose. For the medical line, read AI analysis versus a dermatologist.

Who should pick which

Pick Skan if you want a widely rated US-store scanner and you care about product and price matching on the screens.

Pick Beeuty if you are on iPhone or iPad and you want a whole-face map, a score history and ingredient-level advice without a long onboarding.

Some US reviews of Skan mention unexpected charges and scans that fail to load. That is review language, not a lab test. Read the live listing and the in-app purchase sheet before you subscribe to either app.

Looking for a Skan alternative?

If you came to Skan for a face scan and found the plan locked, Beeuty’s core read is the scan: score, map, type, routine. If you came for product matching, Beeuty will not replace a catalogue. See also Beeuty vs Thea and Beeuty vs Lovi, and the English seven-app comparison.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

What does Skan cost?
On the US App Store as of October 2026, Skan lists weekly $1.99–5.99, monthly $9.99 and yearly $19.99–39.99. Those are USD list prices; we do not convert them. Beeuty’s own prices are not listed here.
Is the Skan scan free?
A published onboarding review says the scan and first score are free and the plan is locked. We have not re-run that flow ourselves. Beeuty’s core scan is free to start, with optional PRO for deeper features.
Which has more US ratings?
Skan: 4.79 from 9,831 ratings as of October 2026. Beeuty still has too few for the number to mean much.
Does either app diagnose skin conditions?
Beeuty states that results are cosmetic estimates, not diagnoses. We did not find a comparable disclaimer for Skan in the sources used here. Neither one replaces a dermatologist.
Is Beeuty on Android?
No. Beeuty is iPhone and iPad only. We did not confirm Skan’s other store listings for this page.
A quick note: Beeuty is a cosmetic and educational app, not a medical device. Its analyses estimate how your skin looks in a photo — they do not diagnose, treat, or cure any condition. If a spot, rash, or mole worries you, or a concern persists or gets worse, please see a dermatologist.
